Week of April 13 - 17 Projects: OSF SATELLITE STUDIOS

For our critique this week, we are sharing our project in process for feedback (*see this week’s project instructions): OSF x Beto Janz x Milk Skateboards (Brazil)

Inspire, Aja, Transforme is a series of skateboard graphics inspired by three stages of the creative process. Made in collaboration with multi-media artist Beto Janz, the decks were commissioned by the Brazilian skateboard company Milk Skateboards to connect Canadian and Brazilian skateboard youth cultures. 

Students looked at the work of typographer Wolfgang Weingard and vintage magazines for inspiration. They collected series of images inspired by the words Inspire, Act or Transform and laid out collaborative collages. Collages were then transformed into stencils and spray painted onto maple veneers. 

These skateboards are rolling works of art, as well as a means of transportation. The graphics will be photographed and sent to Milk Skateboards where one will be selected for mass production to be distributed across Brazil.

OSF SATELLITE STUDIOS starts Monday with our SK8 art/design/business/literacy projects announced weekly, building towards an end of semester online Brand Showcase hosted by @roarockit . Note to Students: All projects are graded and go to you earning your timetabled credits. Teachers are available to coach you with workflow and provide instruction throughout the week - reach out to us and we will make any accommodations or modifications to assignments to help you experience continued success. Do your best with the materials you have in your remote studios and a package from @roarockit is on its way. Weekly due dates are Fridays at 2pm.

Launching Monday! To Students & Parents/Guardians: We will be supporting our students to work remotely on-line on credits/to graduate, so please check the overall plan that will be released tomorrow with first projects posted here Monday, due dates every Friday at 2pm, and a shipment from our partner @Roarockit arriving soon to support continued hands-on learning at home. To our followers that are part of our OSF Community, we appreciate your continued support and positive feedback. We’ll get through this all together
