Jokesmith

Hello sunshine! My brand is Jokesmith! I’m a returning student from 2016-2017 and this year I’m bringing back the Jokesmith spirit with something even wilder! I’m planning to evolve my brand with better symbolic/expressive artwork, more creative merchandise, and deeper personal reflections of shameless self-expression. So far this semester, I’ve upgraded my colour palette with 3 extra hand-picked shades for a more versatile and pleasant appearance, as well as put a lot of effort in redesigning the different logos.

My colours (Purple, green, yellow) are the main source of inspiration for my first rebranded skateboard; they spark my imagination. Further inspiration came from the symbols you see on joker cards, lucky charms (clovers, horseshoes, cherries, gems), and casino-themed images such as dice, #777, and playing cards. I am also turning the Jokesmith into a consistent character throughout all my pieces because I want him to be known for his sly, charming personality, and special attributes like using magic/spells to levitate objects. Overall, I want the Jokesmith to make you feel wild and ready to do anything.
My experience working on my brand this time feels much more serious. I gained a better work ethic towards life and look forward to graduating. I feel this attitude has been reflected in my work. Jokesmith inspires me as well, and lets me have an outlet to figure out my values and what makes me who I am.
I’m super excited to see what I can make of Jokesmith by the end of this year!
